Balance & top-ups
Platform5 works on a prepaid balance. Messages, airtime and bundles are charged against it, so keep it topped up.
Check your balance
Section titled “Check your balance”Open Billing in the navigation bar. You’ll see your current balance at the top.
Top up with M-Pesa
Section titled “Top up with M-Pesa”- Open Billing → Balance & top-ups.
- Click Top up.
- Enter the amount in KES and your M-Pesa number.
- Confirm the STK push on your phone.
- Your balance updates within seconds.
The minimum top-up is KES 100.
How you are charged
Section titled “How you are charged”- SMS campaigns: per message part delivered, at the rate for the destination.
- Airtime and data bundles: the price shown at purchase.
- USSD: per session, based on menu length and network.
Failed messages are usually credited back automatically.
Low balance alerts
Section titled “Low balance alerts”Set a low balance threshold under Billing → Alerts. When your balance drops below it, you and your team are notified by email.
